Energize® grate

Developed in Europe, used in France, China, Vietnam, Singapore and Indonesia.

The ENERGIZE® multi-stage grate is a horizontal, forward moving grate, first specifically designed for municipal solid waste (MSW) with a high moisture content and a low lower heating value (LHV). It was originally developed in Europe, building on a long experience of similar waste incineration technology with many references in Europe and Asia. China Tianying (CNTY) has acquired the Energize® technology in 2015 and is now using it in all its new plants. It is constructed in CNTY’s own workshop.

Each furnace uses the Energize® grate technology as its core component. The furnace is divided in a drying zone, combustion zone and burn-out zone. The first empty pass of the boiler is positioned over the drying zone and partly over the combustion zone. Each zone has its own dedicated primary air fan and primary air temperature control. The furnace is equipped with a start-up burner and two auxiliary burners. Secondary air is injected at the entry of the first empty pass. The grate siftings are evacuated via chain conveyors. The bottom ash extractor is a pusher type.
